I grew up in Kansas before heading east to Ohio to go to college at Kenyon College. I spent my junior year studying history and literature in Ireland, and thought I'd go into journalism after college. After about two months of working in Washington, DC, I decided that what I really needed to do was be a teacher. I moved to Colorado where I taught preschool for two years while I worked on my teaching certificate. Then, I was off to Utah for my first job! I taught three years in the Jordan School District, teaching fourth grade in their ALPS program. Now, I am beginning my second year at Saratoga Shores, and I love being a Shark! When I am not dreaming up lessons and thinking about students, (and sometimes while I am!), I like to run, knit, read, cook, and spend lots of time camping and hiking with my husband and almost two year old daughter. We have made it to 12 National Parks in the last year and a half, and traveled to over 17 states! I am looking forward to the new school year so I can rest for a while!
