I was born in Provo, Utah. I lived there for a few months and then moved to Garland Utah. I am the oldest of 6 children. I have one sister and four brothers. I was raised in Garland. My high school years were spent at Bear River High School. There I was the center of the basketball team. My sophomore year we took state. My senior year we took second in state. I was also the drum major for the band for two years. I attended Ricks College (It will always be Ricks to me.) I graduated with my associates in elementary education. I then attended Utah State for a year. I left school to serve a mission in Calgary Canada. When I returned I met my husband Matthew. I have two children, Nicole and Tanner. They are my joy. When my children were young I returned to school.

I graduated from Weber State in 2005 with honors. Since then I have taught first grade at Saratoga Shores. I taught the STARS summer reading program for two years. I have also been the first grade math coordinator for the district for two years. The last two summers I have worked for the Utah State Office of Education as a presenter for Elementary CORE Academy. I love teaching. I knew from a young age that I was going to be a teacher. I love first grade and the fabulous experiences we have and the learning that takes place. Some of my favorite things include reading, watching basketball and football, cooking, embroidery, watching movies, going to the spa, but most of all spending time with my family. Favorites include: food – fish and fresh fruit and vegetables, book – anything by John Grisham, movie – Australia and National Treasure I & II, song – Stand by Rascal Flatts, color – purple. In my free time (ha-ha) I help my husband with our Photography business.
